New Orleans Saints: Marques Colston Needs To Step Up Against Seattle Seahawks
The New Orleans Saints will be facing off against the Seattle Seahawks in the Week 13 Monday Night Football game. This is the biggest game for both teams so far this season and each team will be fighting for NFC supremacy. Each team boasts some very good players, but this game will be the ultimate offense versus defense matchup.
The Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the NFL, while the Saints have one of the most potent offenses in the league. Furthermore, the Seahawks have arguably the best secondary in the NFL and the Saints have one of the deepest receiving corps in the country. One player that needs to step up for the Saints is wide receiver Marques Colston.
The Quiet Storm has been fairly quiet all season long, but the Saints will need their career-leading receiver to show up big against the Legion of Boom. Colston has battled some injuries this season, but he seems to be hitting his stride the last couple of games. On the season, Colston has 43 receptions for 569 yards and two touchdowns.
Colston has been a model of consistency for the Saints throughout his entire career and the team will need him on Monday night. Jimmy Graham figures to draw a lot of attention from the Seahawks’ secondary, so that could open things up for Colston. However, Colston will likely be covered by the 6-foot-3 Richard Sherman, Seattle’s best cornerback, and it will not be easy.
Colston will need to break free from Sherman and if he can, you can be sure that Drew Brees will find him. I would look for Colston to have a good game against the Seahawks and have good production like he has been doing for his entire career.
