Josh Gordon had another monster game. The Cleveland Browns wide receiver became the first receiver in the history of football to have back-to-back 200 yard games. He had 261 receiving yards and two touchdowns as the Jacksonville Jaguars were helpless to defend him. To think this guy was rumored to be on the trading block earlier this season seems crazy now. Those talks will certainly be thrown to the back burner for a long, long time.
The real question is, could Gordon be becoming the best all-around receiver in football? No one is making explosive plays on a consistent basis the way Gordon is. He has speed to burn and is torching defenses in the intermediate game and especially downfield.
He is the best deep threat in the game right now, bar none. What’s even scarier? He’s putting up numbers like this with Jason Campbell as his quarterback. Can you imagine the numbers this guy would be putting up on a good team with a legitimate signal-caller throwing him the ball?
For now, he is the star of the Browns’ offense. They should build their offense around this absolute stud in the passing game. They are armed with draft picks. They have one cornerstone player on offense already with no. 12. He is the most dynamic receiver in the league right now.
It doesn’t look like he’s slowing down either. Defenses are in for night mares going up against this physical specimen on a weekly basis. Good luck matching up with this guy if you are a defensive player — you are going to need it.
