The New England Patriots won another game in the fourth quarter. I can’t believe how many times Tom Brady has managed to come from behind to steal victories for the Patriots. The offense lit up a Houston Texans team that was ranked amongst the top defenses in the league. This team is finally starting to resemble a Super Bowl-caliber team.
This is promising for a Patriots team whose offense looked atrocious earlier in the year. Rob Gronkowski has looked like his old self and Danny Amendola is making catches to keep drives alive. The Patriots may be hitting their stride at exactly the right time.
This Patriots team is starting to remind fans of the teams that actually won Super Bowls. I’m sure everyone recalls the disappointing Super Bowls of years past, the ones where the Patriots looked like they were going to score 100 points and run over whoever was in their way. The only problem was the Patriots would get there and lose because of their shaky defense, and their inability to play a team with a pass rush.
This year is different. This team has handled adversity. They have learned to play from behind and have navigated some of the worst injury situations in the league. Today may be a simple win against a pretty average Texans team, but it showed their promise and potential. They may finally be ready to make a run in the playoffs and possibly deliver another championship to the city of Boston.
