Pierre Garcon’s Error-Filled Night Should Cause Redskins Fans To Worry
The Washington Redskins‘ Week 13 match-up with the New York Giants was an absolute eyesore to watch. Constant mistakes from every part of the team doomed Mike Shanahan‘s bunch as it dropped to 3-9. Sure, a bulk of the blame can rest on the shoulder of a one Robert Griffin III, but a certain Redskins wide receiver deserves to have the finger pointed his way as well.
Pierre Garcon signed a signed a five-year, $42.5 million contract with at least $20.5 million guaranteed money. And to be frank, Garcon has done nothing to warrant this type of contract. While No. 88 may lead the Redskins in receptions with 84 catches, he’s come up short when needed the most. In particular, Washington’s supposed “top target” was held to just 61 yards on Monday and happened to complete a trifecta of stupidity.
In the same game; Garcon fumbled at a crucial point, dropped another key pass and received a 15-yard penalty on a personal foul when he kicked a football into the stands after a horrid pass from Griffin. I understand that wide receivers are “divas” by nature, yet this kind of behavior is entirely unacceptable if you ask me. As the Redskins plummet to the cellar of the NFC East, be sure to keep an eye on Garcon because he has the look of someone who desperately wants out of the Nation’s capital after just two years.
