Frank Gore is the key to San Francisco 49ers Success Against Seattle Seahawks

Over his nine-year NFL career with the San Francisco 49ersFrank Gore has established himself as one of the top running backs in the game. He is known for his leadership and tough running style, but can he continue his success against the Seattle Seahawks this week? Gore has averaged 83 total yards per game over his last five meetings with the Seahawks, but he has only accounted for 48 total yards in his last two matchups against Seattle. If San Francisco is going to beat its nemesis, Frank Gore must be productive once again.

Gore has already eclipsed 800 yards this season, but his production has been hit or miss. In the last three games, Gore has failed to crack 50 yards rushing. Is this a sign of a decline, or is the veteran running back just going through a slump? If Gore does not produce down the stretch for the 49ers, more pressure will fall on quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Gore has remained a stalwart back for the 49ers over the years, but can the cornerstone of this generation handle the load the rest of the way? Kendall Hunter and Gore’s yards per rush attempt is nearly identical, so is it time to give Hunter a few more carries? How many carries does the veteran have left in him this season? Will he bounce back in the later stages of the season?

When Gore plays well, the 49ers chances of winning skyrockets. You should expect Gore to run angry against a great Seattle defense, but will he be effective? If Gore reaches 50 yards rushing, the 49ers will have a great chance of beating the team’s biggest rival.
