Down 21-10 in the second quarter, the Denver Broncos could have thrown in the towel. But just like they did last week, they never gave up.
On a day in which John Fox coached the team for the first time since the heart surgery, the Broncos got support from just about everyone on every aspect. History was also made for the Broncos. They scored 50-plus points in a game for the third time this season, which is a remarkable feat. Peyton Manning threw for four touchdowns once again. And we can’t forget Matt Prater making history as the NFL record holder for the longest field goal made all-time at 64 yards. It was a complete team effort for the Broncos as they have put the Tennessee Titans on thin ice, making the road to a playoff birth even more difficult for them.
With the win, the Broncos can check off playoff birth on their list. The next task is winning the team’s third-straight division title. With three games left in the season, it should be done within the next week or two. The team is shaping up to be a dominant force going into the postseason and with how the other teams are looking as far as records and players, they should have no issue in checking off the items on their list one at a time.
Don’t look now, but the Broncos are playing like a legitimate Super Bowl contender. The only issue I can see that could be fixed is to start off better. The defense needs to do a better job at keeping the opposing team out of the end zone. This is something that can be easily fixed. But either way, this team is on a mission and they will not stop until they have reached the top.
