Jadeveon Clowney is undoubtedly the best defensive prospect with his name in the 2014 NFL Draft, but he’s done his best to move down the draft board. After a sub-par junior season with the South Carolina Gamecocks, Clowney has gone from the head-and-shoulders best player in the draft to a total question mark.
Unfortunately, the most recent news on Clowney is just as troubling as his junior year statistics. Reports have surfaced that the Gamecocks’ defensive end was cited for speeding over the weekend for doing a 110 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. The best part? Clowney was doing this in a Chrysler 300 that more than likely came from a booster — just a hunch that a 20-year-old can’t afford a car worth $30,000+ without some help from the university that Clowney has made millions of dollars.
Even still, Clowney has had his eyes set on the 2014 NFL Draft for over a year now as this defensive end can all but smell the dollar bills. Moreover, Clowney’s hunger for the draft makes it even more stupid for No. 7 to put his life in danger behind the wheel. If Clowney can make it to May then he only has himself to blame as speeding is no small deal — especially at nearly 30 MPH over the limit.
