Denver Broncos: Win Tonight Will All But Guarantee AFC West Title

The Denver Broncos are facing the San Diego Chargers for the second time this season. A win would all but be certain that, for the third straight season, the Broncos will be AFC West Champions.

The Broncos will attempt to go 5-0 against division opponents tonight for the second straight season. Most fans and analysis are predicting a shootout in this game, but if there is any team that you do not want to go up against in a shootout, it is Peyton Manning and the Broncos’ offense. The Broncos will need a win tonight and a Kansas City Chiefs loss on Sunday afternoon against another division rival, the Oakland Raiders, in order to claim the division. It is important to take care of business on the Broncos’ end, but a win for them will all but seal the division. Broncos’ fans will have to swallow their pride and cheer for the Raiders this weekend, but I feel as if that will not be necessary, because even if the Chiefs win, the Broncos have already beaten them twice and they are the only team that can catch up to the Broncos, which in reality, I do not see happening.

With that being said, as long as the Broncos play their game tonight and keep the home crowd in the game, they should have no trouble downing the Chargers. The Broncos can also make it more challenging for their division rivals to compete for a wild card spot. At 6-7, the Chargers need to win out and get some help. A loss by Denver will all but bury the team and have them kiss their playoff hopes goodbye.

The Broncos should not have to worry about anything else. Just take care of business and the division is yours for the taking.
