The Baltimore Ravens waltzed into Ford Field with a purpose and walked out with a crucial victory that keeps them as the No. 6 seed in the AFC. This looked like the vintage Ravens defense.

They were laying the wood every chance they got and more than a few times had king-sized receiver Calvin Johnson laying on the turf for more than a few seconds. The man that had fans shaking their heads all week backed up his talk big time.

Rookie safety Matt Elam had 10 tackles, a pass defended, and the game sealing interception as he more than backed up his trash talk. The Ravens’ defense also held Johnson out of the end zone. This team simply knows what it takes to win in December and January.

They have a tough as nails, hard hitting defense. They have a quarterback in Joe Flacco who always gets it in done in crunch time. Then there is possibly their deadliest weapon of all — Justin Tucker.

He simply doesn’t miss field goals. Not only does he have accuracy, but he has power. Tucker has leg out to 65 yards and is deadly accurate. Boy is his leg an explosive weapon come playoff time, and he may just be this team’s MVP right now.

Truth be told this is a completely wide open conference. No team has asserted its dominance. The Ravens are getting hot at the right time, and their defense is really gelling. Is it out of the realm of possibility that this team could make a run? No, in fact there is a distinct possibility that this team could be representing the AFC in February.
