Denver Broncos Have Perfect Opportunity to Clinch Home-Field Advantage This Weekend
If there was a weekend in December in which the Denver Broncos could take advantage and finish business by wrapping up all scenarios this is it.
The Broncos square off against the Houston Texans on Sunday at Reliant Stadium. Coming off of a hard loss against the San Diego Chargers, the Broncos are looking to use it as a springboard to a win this weekend on the road. They have a lot to play for, but they will need a little bit of help from two teams they faced earlier this season.
First off is that the Broncos can clinch the AFC West division along with a first round bye if they can take care of business against the Texans and they get a little help from Peyton Manning‘s former team the Indianapolis Colts beating the division rival Kansas City Chiefs. But there is another thing that can happen. If both the Broncos and Colts win, they can also secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs if later on in the day the Baltimore Ravens win at home against the New England Patriots. This weekend could shape up to be a great one for Broncos’ fans if all goes well.
This is perhaps the best week for the Broncos to accomplish all three feats. While the Texans are a formidable opponent, they cannot stack up to this Broncos team. And with the Chiefs and Patriots going up against tough opponents who are also vying for a playoff spot, those two games can be just what the Broncos were hoping for. But the most important part of these scenarios is to take care of business on your own front. If the Broncos can do that they can pull away from the rest of the pack and become one step closer to the goal.
