Jamaal Charles had a game for the ages last week. He finished with over 200 yards from scrimmage and five total touchdowns. One touchdown away from tying a nearly untouchable record set by the great Gale Sayers.
These are the type of games that are perhaps only the most explosive athlete in football is capable of. Charles sees a favorable matchup again Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts‘ rushing defense is atrocious. It is the 27th ranked unit in the league and they have gotten gashed on more than a few occasions. Don’t expect that to change Sunday, Colts fans.
This very well could be a preview of a Wild Card round in the playoffs. In what should be considered a crime, the Kansas City Chiefs very well could finish 13-3 and still be the fifth seed and have to go on the road to play a team such as the Colts who have an inferior record. This is due to the fact that the Colts will have won a weak division.
It is certainly a flaw in the system that Roger Goodell and company should look at. Regardless, this Chiefs offense right now is clicking on all cylinders. They hung up half a hundred last week and have been playing at an extremely high level the past month or so.
If the defense, which was playing lights out earlier in the season, can get back in gear, this is a Chiefs team that no one in the AFC will want to see come playoff time. Charles is the most explosive offensive talent in football right now, and a true MVP candidate.
The Chiefs need to ride this guy as far as he can take them.
