Denver Broncos: Knowshon Moreno Deserved To Be In Pro Bowl

Every year, the Pro Bowl has their share of players that deserve to be there and don’t. There is another category that in a sense punishes players despite their high performance of the year. It is called being snubbed and did Knowshon Moreno received just that.

The Denver Broncos‘ running back was surprisingly left off the choice of players that fans voted for to see play in the annual game played in Hawaii. Moreno has had such a productive year, especially in an offense led by Peyton Manning. Moreno started off the year low on the depth chart because of his injuries and issues on the field. Some would even say that the reason he was on the roster was purely because of his pass-blocking abilities, but Moreno had a breakout year in blocking, running the football and even catching a few passes. He truly is a hybrid running back that has flourished in the offense. The fact that he was snubbed from the Pro Bowl is absolutely surprising.

In all retrospect, if for some reason the Broncos make the Super Bowl, it will not matter since players that make the Super Bowl opt out of the Pro Bowl to save themselves from injury. I am sure that is what the other Broncos’ Pro Bowl selections will do if they make it. Looking at it from that angle, I am sure Moreno will be okay playing for the Vince Lombardi trophy instead of playing for the fun of it all.

I believe that next year, there should be an overview on who is being selected for the Pro Bowl, but there will always be a player that will be left out. But I think the way the Broncos are going, not making the Pro Bowl is the least of Moreno’s worries.
