Russell Wilson has gone from a possible NFL MVP in 2013 to one of the Seattle Seahawks‘ biggest question marks. Despite starting the season on a fantastic note, the second-year quarterback has hit a bit of a wall as Wilson has tossed just as many touchdowns (3) as interceptions since the Seahawks laid the beat down on Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.
It’s no secret that the Seahawks have taken a step back in the month of December. In fact, with a loss to the St. Louis Rams in Week 17, Pete Carroll‘s bunch would finish the month of December with a pedestrian 2-3. Not to mention, the Seahawks are in uncharted territory as their 14-game winning streak at home was snapped at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals last week. This time last year, the Seahawks were on an absolute tear as the team didn’t lose a single game in December as Wilson capped off the last month of the season with 13 total touchdowns and just two interceptions.
Needless to say, Wilson needs a big confidence boost this Sunday as he’s coming off one of the worst performances of his career. If Wilson and the Seahawks’ offense throws in another clunker against Robert Quinn and the Rams then Seattle won’t only limp into the postseason, it will practically crawl into the playoffs!
