Cleveland Browns Rumors: Dan Quinn a Top Candidate to Replace Rob Chudzinski
In a somewhat surprising move heard across the league on Monday, the Cleveland Browns decided to let go of their head coach Rob Chudzinski after just one season. It was a tough year for Cleveland under Chudzinski, but much of the struggle was not due to their head coach. Having gone through three quarterbacks and watched his franchise running back get traded, it was a tough spot for Chudzinski to be in. But, nonetheless, Cleveland is moving in a new direction.
Now the search begins for a replacement, and the Browns have already begun the process. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns have already requested permission to interview Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.
Browns requested permission to interview Seahawks DC Dan Quinn for HC job, per source. Quinn can interview Jan. 5.

This would be quite the hiring if the Browns could lure Quinn away from Seattle. Having arguably the top defense in football, the Seahawks’ unit has thrived under Quinn and become one of the most feared groups in recent memory, especially that secondary. Quinn is responsible for helping develop guys like Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas into what I consider the best secondary in the entire NFL.
Wherever the Browns decide to go, I have a feeling that they’d like this hire to be more of a long-term solution unlike the short-lived Chudzinski experiment. Would Quinn fit the mold? He would certainly help continue to mold that defense into an even better unit, that’s for sure.
As always, we will keep you updated on the situation as we continue to hear more.
