To little surprise, the Minnesota Vikings have parted ways with their head coach, Leslie Frazier. As of a couple weeks ago, there had been reports of his imminent firing, therefore no one around the organization is surprised. Although, I know for a fact that running back Adrian Peterson is upset after he gave his two cents a day ago about desiring Frazier to stay.
With Frazier out, the search is now on for a new head coach. One of the guys that makes a lot of sense, and reportedly will be pursued by the Vikings, is Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.
Denver coordinators, Jack Del Rio and Adam Gase, on Vikings’ radar, per sources. Del Rio played LB for Vikings, Minn has inquired about Gase

Del Rio held down the fort pretty well in the absence of head coach John Fox this season, and is a highly respected coach throughout the league. The fact that Del Rio is a defensive-minded guy couldn’t hurt either, due to the Vikings’ unit being one of the worst in all of football this year.
Having ties to the organization as a former linebacker is also in Del Rio’s favor. Bringing back someone formerly of the Vikings who is familiar with the organization and the area would be an excellent choice as I’m sure Del Rio would be comfortable from the start.
It’s interesting that both coordinators from Denver will be on the Vikings’ radar, but that can’t necessarily be a bad thing considering the Broncos had the top offense in the league this season and Del Rio is one of the more experienced guys in line for the job. Wherever the Vikings decide to go, you better believe we’ll have it covered as soon as the news breaks, so keep checking back with us for more on Minnesota’s search.
