There are plenty of great stories to take away heading into the 2014 NFL playoffs, but there’s no question one of the hottest topics heading into Wild Card weekend will be the Philadelphia Eagles and how they managed to clinch the NFC East title by winning seven of their last eight games following a 3-5 start. Nobody knew what to expect from Chip Kelly in his first season in the NFL, but his offense has worked wonders for the Eagles with Nick Foles under center to help setup a first-round matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Saturday.
Two months ago, nobody really expected the Eagles to be in this position, but now that they’ve officially punched their ticket to the postseason–they’re ready to crash the playoff party and hopefully make a run at finally winning their first Super Bowl in franchise history.
Whether football fans like it or not, the Eagles are in the playoffs and are ready to “crash the party” as describe in the video above. Philadelphia has won numerous NFC East Championship titles over the years, but there’s a different feeling this year–mainly because nobody expected the Eagles to be here.
After a 4-12 finish in 2012 and a new head coach in Kelly, the Eagles were supposed to be a team going through the rebuilding phase. Sorry folks–that’s obviously not the case as Philadelphia heads into the playoffs with a 7-1 record over their last eight games and playing at a very, very high level.
