The NFL Playoffs are always fun to watch, but the matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers might just be the must-watch contest of Wild Card weekend. Not only is this a rematch from earlier December, in which the Bengals won 17-10, this game also has quite a bit of bulletin board material. In fact, upon watching the video above, you can already tell that the Chargers feel confident about trekking into Paul Brown Stadium and earning themselves a victory.
If you fast forward the Chargers’ postgame locker room video to the 2:42 mark, you will hear a faint “Who Dey?” hollered out by one San Diego player. Of course, that chant is synonymous with the Bengals, who frequently use “Who Dey?” as a rallying cry of sorts. Either way, the video ruffled some feathers in Cincinnati and Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis didn’t exactly shoot down the controversy by saying this:
“Listening to them in the locker room after they won the last game … they’re pointing to us. They feel like they owe us. So we’ll be ready to go.”
Why Lewis is spending his time watching San Diego celebrate is beyond me, but this is just further proof that everything gets cranked up come playoff time as the tension is high between both of these Super Bowl contenders.
