Chicago Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler “Looking Forward to the Future”
Jay Cutler is apparently quite excited about the future after signing a 7 year extension with the Chicago Bears. I would probably be excited too, but that does not mean Cutler will actually finish out this contract with the Bears. Honestly, would be shocked if he finished out this contract with the Bears.
“I’m looking forward to the future,” Cutler said on Thursday according to USA TODAY. “Obviously, I’m going to be here quite a bit longer. I’m happy to be joining the rest of the guys, the rest of the coaches, the rest of the organization in our pursuit for a championship. That’s the reason I wanted to come back. Because I truly believe we have the right people to make that happen.”
We will have to see about that, and would love to see him develop into a little bit more of a leader to fully deserve the length of this extension. Have to admit am not totally sold on Cutler as a franchise quarterback of the future even though he did play pretty excellent football this year. Just have to question if he can last seven more years in the league, especially if he continues to get hit the way he was this season. Not trying to be a downer, but just trying to see things with a clear eye. Thanks for stopping by today, and we will try and do even better tomorrow.
