Road Playoff Win For New Orleans Saints is Huge Going Forward
Who said the New Orleans Saints couldn’t win on the road? Well, other than many, many people, I am sure the Saints thought otherwise. This playoff road victory over the Philadelphia Eagles is huge going forward.
I am sure Drew Brees and co. had all of the confidence in the world entering this game. That is great and all, because confidence is huge in sports–or anything really–but now the rest of the NFL can be believers. The rest of the NFL has now seen that one of the best teams can finally win a road game, and in the playoffs for that matter.
Philadelphia made a game out of this at the end, but the Saints led for most of the way.
Brees did not have his best performance ever, but that should just give this team even more confidence entering the next round. The defense got it done in this one. Just imagine how good the Saints could be if Brees plays up to par and the D comes to play.
Not having Sean Payton on the sidelines last season really hurt this team, as they did not make the playoffs. Well, Payton has been back the entire season and I am sure New Orleans’ only mission is to win a Super Bowl.
It has one of the best QBs in the league, so that could easily happen.
Regardless, the Saints may have struggled on the road the entire year, but they came up big–away from home–when it mattered most. That is what the playoffs are all about.
