The teams are official now after the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Carolina Panthers in the NFL Playoffs on Sunday. The 49ers ran right passed them 23 – 10 and now are looking forward to what should be the toughest game they will play all season long. The Niners pride themselves on being a very physical team and they most certainly showed how physical they can be in a road game against the Panthers and came out well ahead. The atmosphere and the difficulty level will be quite different in Seattle for the NFC Championship game however.

Where Sunday the 49ers were able to rack up well over 100 yards rushing while allowing few to the Panthers, it will not be nearly that easy against Marshawn Lynch and the Seattle Seahawks on their home turf. At least the Niners have the bragging rights of having beaten the Seahawks not too long ago but that wasn’t in Seattle. The game earlier in the season that was in Seattle saw the 49ers get killed 29 – 3.

Most definitely they showed their toughness in coming from behind and scoring late in the first half. The passing game was as usual; not awesome but solid with no mistakes. Defensively they came up with 2 big interceptions on the Panthers. Such a defensive effort and offensive effort will need to be increased still more to be able to handle the very tough Seahawks at home.

One thing can be said for sure. No disrespect to the Panthers as they had a great season and should be extremely proud of what they accomplished but with the 49ers winning on Sunday we now are in for one of the toughest NFC Title games in recent memory. Congratulations to the 49ers for the big win. They should enjoy it for about 5 minutes before getting ready for the toughest game of the season.
