San Francisco 49ers Advance to Third Straight NFC Title Game Behind Colin Kaepernick’s Two TDs
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick sure seems to always be on his best game come playoff time doesn’t he? His sleeveless performance last week was quite gutsy threw one touchdown pass and ran for another score as the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Carolina Panthers 23-10 today to advance to the NFC championship game for the third straight season.
Kaepernick completed 15 of 28 passes for 196 yards and scored one touchdown through the air and one on the ground in quite impressive manner.
“It was a real arm-wrestling type of a struggle,” Niners head coach Jim Harbaugh said after the win according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.
The 49ers were also able to coax quarterback Cam Newton into two interceptions in the young quarterback’s first playoff game; keep your head up Superman. Will always have a soft spot in my heart for Newton, because started out here at Rant Sports as a lowly Panthers beat writer even though was writing from Chi-town. Fascinating world we line in, and it should be a fascinating couple more weeks of football.
The 49ers are all set now to go up against Russell Wilson and the Seattle SeaPEDers, oops mean Seattle Seahawks in the NFC title game.
Thanks as always for reading. Got a couple more fooze-ball pieces coming at you today, and then be sure to keep an eye on Rant Sports Prep tomorrow.
