Billboards mocking opponents of the Denver Broncos is nothing new for parent company Appliance Factory Outlet in Denver. However, their latest one could create quite the stir with the Seattle Seahawks.

Contract Appliance took a shot at cornerback Richard Sherman by comparing him to Broncos defensive back Champ Bailey. The billboard has the two men side-by-side with the word “class” printed above a smiling Bailey and “no class” printed above a screaming Sherman.

Obviously, the billboard is in reference to the way Sherman handled himself in a postgame interview with Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews after the Seahawks defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. The way he declared himself the best corner in the league and how he called out wide receiver Michael Crabtree didn’t sit well with many people around the NFL. Not to mention, the barrage continued in his postgame news conference.

“I was making sure everyone knew Crabtree was a mediocre receiver,” Sherman said during the postgame press conference. “And when you try the best corner in the game with a mediocre receiver, that’s what happens. I appreciate that he knows that now. There has been a lot of talk from him running his mouth about me.”

If the appliance store is trying to get under Sherman’s skin, I have to imagine it will work. However, Sherman appears to be the type of player that will use the billboard as motivation, which will only make him play better in the Super Bowl. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sherman call out the company that put up the billboard if Seattle wins, especially if he’s the one to make the game-winning play.
