The experienced corner will finally live his first Super Bowl next week and he will enter the game as the defensive leader of the Denver Broncos. Despite a poor collective performance, Champ Bailey stood above the rest of his teammates and his leadership, talent and experience make him one of the best and most reliable CBs in the NFL right now.
Aqib Talib was usually in charge of guarding the toughest wide receiver and did it extremely well during this season, showing he is one of the top one-on-one defenders in the NFL right now. His season ended with a huge hit by Wes Welker in the playoffs and the game clearly could’ve had a different outcome had Talib stayed on the field the whole game.
Joe Haden was the best CB in the NFL during much of the regular season and he would’ve been much better with a competent supporting cast surrounding him on defense. Sadly for him, the Cleveland Browns weren’t good this season, but he definitively gets consideration as one of the best corners in the game.
Darrelle Revis has insane athleticism and he’s the ultimate shutdown corner. He came back from a huge injury sustained in 2012 to play all 16 regular season contests with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was the best in the NFL at his position even if he wasn’t able to make a huge impact statistically speaking.
