Eli Manning Offering Peyton Some Tips About Winning At MetLife
Recently, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has said that he is giving his older brother Peyton Manning some advice, as Peyton tries to win his second Super Bowl, which is taking place on Eli’s home field.
Although the advice is likely more about the field and weather conditions, Eli could also give Peyton some pointers about succeeding in football’s biggest game. Peyton has struggled at times in cold-weather games and Super Bowl 48 will be frigid. There has been a lot of talk about possible snow but all that could just fall by the wayside.
Eli won his second Super Bowl at Lucas Oil Stadium, Peyton’s home turf in Indianapolis at the time. Now Peyton tries to return the favor and pull off a victory at MetLife Stadium.
On the surface it seems odd that Eli would be the one giving advice to Peyton, considering Peyton’s stance as arguably the greatest quarterback of all time. However, the knock on Peyton has always been his performance, not in the regular season, but deep in the playoffs, where he has struggled at times.
With Eli, it’s the exact opposite case. Eli has had some ugly regular seasons but, when everything is on the line, Eli is usually at his best. Each brother has played in two Super Bowls and, while their numbers are similar, Eli has the edge in most categories, including the most important one: wins. It’s hard to imagine Peyton needing much advice but if there’s someone to take it from, it’s Eli.
