20 Lasting Images From Super Bowl 2014
20 Lasting Images from Super Bowl XLVIII
Super Bowl XLVIII is officially in the books. What unfolded on Sunday night was a game that few were predicting. While many of the experts had picked the 'underdog' Seahawks, barely anyone predicted the manner in which they would defeat the Broncos. From the first snap of the game, it was a complete beatdown by Seattle.
People are no doubt going to be talking about Peyton Manning's legacy following this one. Has it taken a hit with this resounding defeat? Where does he rank all time? While Manning certainly wasn't on his A-Game, the Broncos weren't either. From the top down, the Broncos were beaten in this game, as a team. The Seahawks were the best team in all facets of the game. It's really not anymore complicated than that.
So where do both teams go from here?
If Peyton gets clearance to continue playing from his doctors, I think it's entirely possible that we'll get a Super Bowl rematch next February. Both of these teams are going to be in the mix in 2014 and it wouldn't shock me in the least if we got Broncos vs. Seahawks in SB 49 from Glendale, AZ.
Unfortunately for casual football fans, SB 48 was a 'Super Blow' as in, the game sucked. But regardless of that fact, there were still many great photos taken. These images will stand the test of time and years from now they'll bring back memories from Super Bowl XLVIII. Here's a look at the top 20 images from SB 48. They tell the story of what unfolded on and off the field in America's biggest game:
