5 Reasons Why Seattle Seahawks Will Return to Super Bowl in 2015
5 Reasons Why the Seahawks Will Make it To Super Bowl 49
The Seattle Seahawks have left us with no doubt who the best team was in 2013-14. Super Bowl 48 was an absolute beatdown. It all started with the opening snap of the game, which sailed over the head of Peyton Manning and landed in the end zone to earn the Seahawks two points. From that moment on, the game just got uglier and uglier for the Broncos.
When you look at SB 48 from top to bottom, there's no question that Seattle had the better team. Offense, defense, special teams, coaching -- they had the edge in every area. It's just crazy to think that a historically great team like the Broncos could get beaten that badly. It was a matchup of the No. 1 offense versus the No. 1 defense and the defense made the offense look silly.
On top of the on-field dominance displayed by the Seahawks, it was also clear that the crowd was for Seattle. You never know what you're going to get from a Super Bowl crowd, especially when you're talking about a New York crowd. From my experience, New York fans are some of the best when it comes to being vocal.
So what's next for Seattle?
To me, the next thing for this team is another Super Bowl run. Most of the players from this year's roster will return next season and most of those players are top notch. The nucleus of this Seattle team will be back and that's not a good thing for the rest of the league.
With all that we know about this Seahawks team in mind, let's take a look at five reasons why they'll make it back to the Super Bowl in 2015:
Russell Wilson Will Continue to Improve
Wilson already plays like he's a seasoned vet, so you can imagine what a year like 2013 did for him. He's only going to get better, which is not good news for the rest of the NFC.
Pete Carroll's Leadership
Apparently, players love to play for Pete Carroll. Now after winning the Super Bowl, they're going to buy into every single word he says. No matter your opinion of Carroll, there's no denying that he's one of the best coaches in the game.
Percy Harvin Will Be Healthy (in theory)
We all just saw what a difference a healthy Percy Harvin made for the Seahawks. If he's healthy all season long in 2014, look out.
The Legion of Boom
It's still true -- defense wins championships. Richard Sherman and the LOB proved that in Super Bowl 48. With most of the unit returning next season, there's no reason to think they won't be the best D in the league again.
The 12th Man
Obviously the 12th man doesn't apply to the Super Bowl itself, but if the Seahawks earn the No. 1 seed again in 2014, they'll be very unlikely to lose in Seattle along the way to SB 49. There's no question that the Seahawks have the best home field advantage in the NFL and that will play a big part in their run in 2014.
