Despite the ridiculous gay rumors and his rumored engagement to Destiny Newton, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has rekindled his romance with Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szohr.
The Green Bay captain and the huge Packers fan from Menomonee Falls, Wis. dated for a brief stint back in 2011 when Rodgers was on top of the football world. Even though the relationship reportedly didn’t last long, it’s quite clear the two were very fond of each other.
“They got back together over the holidays. They spent New Year’s together with a bunch of mutual friends,” an insider said, according to Us Weekly. “They broke up because her schedule was crazy for a while and they just couldn’t stay together in that situation but now they have been spending their free time together and things feel good. They fell right back into it.”
Rodgers and Szohr were spotted together with gal pal Taylor Swift at the after party for the movie That Awkward Moment. Rodgers and Szohr walked into the premiere together holding hands and they were seen bowling with Swift at Lucky’s Bowling Alley.
Szohr has been acting for the past decade. However, it was her role as Vanessa Abrams in Gossip Girl that made her famous. She was last seen in The Internship with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. Also, she has three films, one TV movie and one TV series coming out this year.
As for Rodgers, the superstar quarterback will be doing everything in his power to get the Packers ready for a fourth consecutive division title and a deep playoff run. Therefore, Packers fans shouldn’t be worried about him losing his focus because of his new girlfriend. Since Szohr is such a diehard Packers fan, I can’t imagine she will want to get in the way of Green Bay bringing another Lombardi Trophy back to Titletown.
