There is no question that the New York Jets need to make a splash during this offseason, free agency wise, as well as making some trades.

Among positions that need upgrades are the wide receiver, the tight end, the running back, offensive line and secondary positions. There is also no doubt that New York will also bring in a quarterback to compete with Geno Smith.

This upcoming offseason will be a big one, as for the first time in a few years, New York will have money to spend. It will also be general manager John Idzik‘s second year at the helm of making the decisions. It is also the first offseason since head coach Rex Ryan was given a multi-year extension. With all of this going for New York, it is important for it to get off on the right foot during the offseason, and quick.

New York fans are extremely excited, and rightfully so. New York completely exceeded expectations last year, winning eight games. Now, they can only go up from here, and it would be a huge disappointment if the Jets do not come away from free agency with players that can help this team win football games.

New York fans have been waiting patiently for this New York team to make some noise, and this year is the year to do it. With the money, the front office and the young talent on the team, there is no reason why the Jets should not be able to bring in players from free agency, but they have to do so fast, before other teams catch on.
