Detroit Lions Rumors: Team Would Be Foolish to Trade DT Ndamukong Suh

Yes, the rumors have already surfaced regarding the possible trade of Detroit Lions‘ defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh. The Pro Bowler has been involved in multiple rumors regarding a departure from the Lions and it has even been announced that he would be teaming up with Jay-Z and Roc Nation in order to get some sort of contract worked out.

In case you don’t know this, Jay-Z has the ability to get athletes a ton of money in their contract discussions — just like he did with Robinson Cano who signed with the Seattle Mariners for over $200 million.

The Lions, however, would be foolish to let Suh go. If the Lions’ front office is even contemplating the idea of trading their superstar defensive tackle, they would be — I don’t know how to put this lightly — stupid.

For a franchise that has had no success in the past 50-plus years and has never won a Super Bowl, losing a key defensive piece that could help them get there would be the wrong decision. Sure, they could get a lot in return for a trade, but unless they are getting a top-five draft pick in this year’s draft to pick Jadeveon Clowney, it’s not worth it — even then it would be a mistake.

Reports are surfacing that the team is shopping around to see what they can get for him, but in my opinion, he’s not going anywhere. His contract is set to be up in 2015, but the Lions know they will have to pay the big bucks to keep him on board.

It might exceed any type of spending they’d really like — or need — to allot, but they must get a deal done and not trade Suh.

He’s overrated. And he’s definitely not worth 22 Million. We are in no way a winning team because of him. And also I don’t care.

Okay, so tie up suh and have this team be cap hostage with glaring hole’s that will never get fully addressed thanks to his demanding contract. This article is stupid not to notice that Suh has not helped the lions in enough to earn the money he’s going to demand. It’s time to move on and and build properly, like the seahawks did.

Just so you know he is a defensive tackle. If you don’t know what position a guy plays why write the article. Suh who i think is a great player has been on the team since 2010. They only went to the playoffs once and haven’t been over 500 the other 3 years. So just one player doesn’t make a team. Pass on the huge contract trade him to an AFC team. I would love for him to stay but not at the expense of building a good team, and franchising him the next two years after would be stupid

Paying a DT the kind of money Suh is going to want is absurd. If they can get a 1st & 3rd round pick from, say, Oakland for him they should jump at it. He has been more of a distraction than a performer, and certainly didn’t do anything worth $13 million last season
