The New York Jets Flight Crew was founded in 2007 by Denise Garvey when she approached the Jets about starting a cheerleading squad back in 2005. The Jets declined at first since at the time, they wanted the main focus to be solely on football. It wasn't until 2006 that instead of using their traditional male flag crew during player introductions at home games, they decided to have a contest that ultimately had five female winners run out with the team instead. It was an instant hit; fans at Giants Stadium loved it, and more support started flowing in suggesting that the Jets should have their own cheerleaders for the first time in team history. Some of the females who had won that limited-time contest eventually became inaugural members for the first incarnation of the Flight Crew that following year.

Originally created to enhance the football experience at Giants Stadium, they got the fans to cheer and bring more energy to every home game. The majority of the Flight Crew to this day contain extremely talented women who are not only cheerleaders, but also professional dancers, athletes and women who maintain tons of activity in the community. The Flight Crew attend many charity events and do hospital visits to make sure they help every fan root for the team, no matter where they are.

As the years of tradition continued for more than seven years now, the Flight Crew is gaining more and more worldwide exposure. They've been featured on ESPN, Good Day New York, the Dr. Oz show and the Martha Stewart show! Plus, every season the Jets make the NFL playoffs, the Flight Crew officially throws the switch to light the Empire State Building completely green the night before the game. With a little intro to the Flight Crew, please enjoy the top 15 pictures of the talented women working in the group through the past few years as they root for the Jets through thick and thin!
