2014 NFL Draft: Debate Between JaDeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack Is Great One

To clarify: JaDeveon Clowney and Khalil Mack don’t necessarily have a rivalry between one another, but any NFL draft guru will tell you that these two defensive behemoths are surely causing a split in the community. The easiest way to start an argument between two NFL draft fans this year is to ask the simple question of “Who will be a better pro? Clowney or Mack?”

The last time the NFL draft produced this kind of man-to-man comparison was just two years ago when Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin were pinned up against one another like childhood enemies. Even still, it’s good to see the nation’s top two defensive players getting the press they both deserve. Especially in a league that has been criticized for supposedly being to offensive-heavy. Personally, Clowney’s motor is something that scares me as the NFL’s top defensive ends are the more relentless ones that refuse to take plays off ala Robert Mathis or Robert Quinn.

Meanwhile, Mack has been heralded for his ideal speed and size for the outside linebacker position. To be honest, any team who selects either Clowney or Mack will probably not regret it, but the debate is fun nonetheless. With just a few months until draft day finally gets here, expect both Clowney and Mack to be compared and dissected more and more each day.
