When your NFL season final record ends at 4-12, fans gather in legions to see what direction the team is heading into come the 2014 NFL Draft. It gives everyone hope that some of the best players straight out of college football can help make an impact in the right direction immediately upon arrival. It's been three straight losing seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are filled with optimism that a great draft will finally bring them success.

The NFL Combine is an amazing opportunity for scouts and team personnel to get a very good look at their possible future draft picks. It gives everyone an idea on what to expect when they make the transition to the pros. With the NFL Combine over, some left feeling they could have done better while others knew they left lasting impressions. Players were highlighting all their unique skills to prove that they are worthy of a high draft pick. The Jaguars went in with an idea on what key players they wanted to observe, however, things might have changed. The NFL Combine could have indeed provided some new targets the Jaguars might want to invest their draft picks in instead of the ones they originally wanted to. Speaking of which, the Jaguars have 10 draft picks in the upcoming draft which is plenty to help turn their franchise into the winning direction.

Ever since the season ended, the Jaguars have started to get an idea on what specific team needs they need to succeed for the upcoming NFL season. Right off the bat, there is no true franchise quarterback established. The best teams in the NFL can all show that if you want true success, you need to have the face of the organization set behind center. Let's face it, the NFL has turned into a passing league. Only the best quarterbacks survive deep in the NFL playoffs. Perhaps the reason the Jaguars continue to have losing seasons could probably be linked to not having a five-star quarterback calling all signals.

Another team need is definitely their defense. The Jaguars have major issues with their defensive line as well as their linebackers. Linebacker Paul Posluszny is getting up there with age and injuries. The Jaguars need to build around him and their star defensive end, Sen'Derrick Marks. Keep in mind they were one of the worst pass rushing teams in the NFL, which makes sense as to why they lost so many games. The Jaguars need to compliment Marks by drafting someone to get more sacks on the football field alongside him.

Take a look at some of the new targets that could easily help the Jaguars improve this upcoming season!

Johnny Manziel

Johnny Manziel is easily one of the most popular quarterbacks going into the 2014 NFL Draft. Manziel would definitely bring some much needed good attention to the Jacksonville Jaguars and be solidified as the new face of the franchise. At the NFL Combine, Johnny Football ran a 4.68 at the 40 yard dash and showed he is a dynamic athlete who can make quick plays. He illustrated that he can scramble and bring a Russel Wilson like player to the Jaguars the likes of which they have never seen. At first the Jaguars were rumored to go defense heavy, but Manziel showed the Jaguars that he could be the guy they need to turn things around.

Blake Bortles

Even though the Jacksonville Jaguars might be intrigued to what Johnny Football can bring to the table, quarterback Blake Bortles could be their next option if Manziel is picked up ahead of time. At the NFL Combine, the Jaguars were impressed with his mobility and leadership. He could be a new target to help steer the Jaguars into a more potent and high-octane offense.

Tre Mason

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew will most likely leave the team come free agency so they will have to address this need at the 2014 NFL Draft. After seeing what Tre Mason was capable of at the NFL Combine, he could be a new target to create chaos in the backfield. Mason showed signs of greatness being able to run between tackling dummies with ease that could help bring a new look to the Jaguars rushing game.

Chris Borland

A surprising new target for the Jacksonville Jaguars has been linebacker Chris Borland. He was nothing short of amazing at the NFL Combine showing how fast and athletic he is. He came off as a tackling machine able to be a starter as well as an active special teams kind of player to create turnover opportunities. He would be a perfect compliment for Paul Posluszny.

Jadeveon Clowney

Even though most mock drafts show that the Jacksonville Jaguars will most likely go quarterback first with their first round draft pick, don't be surprised if they go after their new target. Their actual main new target. If anything was learned from Super Bowl XLVIII, defense wins championships. Jadeveon Clowney was a superstar at the NFL Combine to the point of proving he is a top three draft pick. Clowney is fast and has a keen sense of attack the minute he rushes towards opposing quarterbacks from the line of scrimmage. He will be one of the most unique talents in the draft and will be a huge contributor to a revamped Jaguars team who should easily improve for the upcoming season. Expect big things from his contributions the minute he puts on his new Jaguars uniform.
