Richie Incognito needs help. That much has been made clear over the past few months since his suspension from the Miami Dolphins after the whole Jonathan Martin bullying case. It seems like the 10-year NFL veteran is in need of serious counseling and, on Thursday night, he checked himself into an Arizona psychiatric care unit.

This seems to be the smartest decision Incognito has made in the past year, or so. Since his destruction of Martin’s mental stability as well as his Twitter rants, Incognito has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

In fact, the fiery lineman took to his Ferrari with a baseball bat to “vent” his problems and create “art” — or so he called it. Since the Ferrari smash, the veteran came out with the reasoning behind his car-smashing rampage:

“Oh that was that was just me venting, that was my self-expression, that’s a piece of art. The happiest day of my life was when I got that car and now the second happiest day will be when I donate it to charity.”

I recently wrote about how this statement is sad in three different ways. However, this is the best decision he has made in quite some time by checking himself into rehab for some mental instability of his own.

While Martin nor Incognito may ever play another snap in the NFL, it’s best if they get help for their mental issues before moving forward to ensure the safety of them and their families.

Although Incognito seems like an idiot most of the time, this was a very wise move.
