The biggest free agent QB on the market this year is Michael Vick. Even though he’s not coming off one of his better seasons, he’s still the most dynamic QB available to teams in need. But despite his claims that he wants to start in 2014, it seems that he may ultimately choose to sign with a team that already has a starter in place. That team would be the New York Jets.

Vick to the Jets has been talked about for many weeks now. It’s seemingly a perfect fit, but only if Vick is willing to be the backup. Geno Smith has been dubbed the QB of the future by most, although some aren’t sold on him quite yet.

The latest word on the internet is that Vick is indeed going to land in New York. It appears that he hasn’t garnered as much attention from other teams as he anticipated he would. Or, it’s possible that he thinks he has a chance to start in New York. But does any Jets fan want to relive the last few years? They’ve been down this road before with Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.

If Vick is completely okay with being Smith’s backup, then I like him going to the Jets. If he’s going there to compete, I greatly dislike him going to the Jets.

We’ll have to see if any other teams show interest in the speedy QB as free agency progresses, but as of now, the smart money is that Michael Vick will be wearing green once again in 2014.
