The year 1998 proved to be great for the Jets when they acquired quarterback Vinny Testaverde in free agency. In his debut season with the Jets, he led them to the AFC Championship game! Testaverde would continue to lead the Jets to memorable seasons which included the famous "Monday Night Miracle" against the Miami Dolphins.

Back in 1993 the Jets acquired cornerback Victor Green in free agency and he proved to be an amazing defensive player. Considered to be a true shut-down cornerback, in nine seasons with the Jets he had 85 tackles with 24 interceptions.

What else can be said about "Mr. Third Down" Wayne Chrebet? As an undrafted player out of Hofstra, he pursued his NFL dreams by never giving up until he earned a roster spot. To this day no player has broken his single season record of 16 touchdowns and 31 career touchdowns!

Running back Curtis Martin is hands down the biggest free agent signing in the history of the Jets. He was acquired back in 1998 and was an instant superstar. Martin ended his tenure with the Jets compiling some amazing team records that will stand the test of time. He rushed for 10,302 yards and 58 touchdowns. Martin was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2012 and also had his No. 28 retired by the team.
