Denver Broncos All In For Super Bowl After Flurry Of Free Agent Signings
The Denver Broncos had a fast and furious first day of free agency. They were the most active team in the league as they landed top safety T.J. Ward, the best cornerback on the market in Aqib Talib and are on the verge of securing veteran pass rusher DeMarcus Ware.
That is one major coup. Ware in particular would give them a fearsome pass rushing duo of Von Miller and Ware. The Broncos’ biggest problem last season was their defense. It simply wasn’t very good, especially in the secondary. The Broncos were cognizant of that.
Talib and Ward are massive upgrades. Talib is capable of shutting down his side of the field and is one of the best man-to-man corners in football. Ward is an up and coming safety who will come up in the box and thump you.
The Broncos’ Super Bowl odds shot through the roof after these signings. They were arguably the class of the AFC before these signings, but now they are the unquestioned favorites.
It will be interesting to see the New England Patriots‘ response. Darrelle Revis is likely to hit the market later today, and the Pats should be all over that if they want to keep up with this Broncos squad.
Day one of free agency went to the Broncos in a landslide. They made massive improvements on defense. Now comes day two where there are still some big names to be had. There’s no doubt more moves to change the landscape of the NFL are coming.
