The 2014 NFL Draft is right around the corner and when the first round finally does get under way on May–chances are Clemson‘s Sammy Watkins will be the first wide receiver selected from this year’s class. After the type of career he displayed at Clemson, Watkins seems like the type of rookie who will have an immediate impact with his new team and while there will be plenty of teams showing interest on draft day to snag the wideout–it looks like Watkins is already having some fun with Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions fans by showing how good his jersey would look on their team.
Earlier this week, Watkins was the popular topic of conversation earlier this week when he uploaded a Lions jersey with his name on the back to his Instagram account and he took things to a whole new level on Thursday when he uploaded a photo of himself on a football field wearing a Browns jersey. Obviously, Watkins has no idea where he’ll land on draft day at this point, but it’s difficult not to wonder if he has strong interest playing for either of these two teams.
While the Browns would have a better shot at landing Watkins with the fourth pick, they’re also a team in desperate need of a quarterback after parting ways with former first-round pick (not to mention huge NFL bust) Brandon Weeden this week–so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they passed on the Clemson star in the first round. As for the Lions, they currently hold the 10th pick, but depending on their interesting in landing Watkins to play alongside Calvin Johnson–don’t be surprised if they strongly considered moving up a few picks to land the wideout.
