While the organization cannot seem to make their mind up when it comes to coaching and front office personnel, the Cleveland Browns have assembled an impressive group of talent on their roster. Unfortunately, the wins simply have not been there. This is an important draft for the Browns, and they have the ammo to do well, starting with the fourth and 26th picks in the first round.
I would not say it is likely, but I think it is possible that the Browns fall in love with Sammy Watkins, and take the dynamic WR with the fourth pick in the draft. Watkins is one of the most talented wide receivers in recent memory, and coupling him with All-Pro Josh Gordon would give Cleveland one of the best WR duos in the league.
There has been some talk that the Browns really like Derek Carr, and will target him in this draft. After the consensus top 3 QBs in this draft, Carr is considered by most to be the next best. The Browns have a huge need at the position and must come away with a franchise type QB in this draft. It is unlikely that they will take Carr with the fourth pick, but trading back or taking him with the 26th is certainly possible.
Odell Beckham has really raised his draft stock recently. He is a very talented wide receiver that seems to have a bright future in the NFL. If the Browns pass on Watkins with the fourth pick, and Beckham is still there at No. 26, it would be hard for them to pass him up. A duo of Beckham and Gordon would be incredible as well.
Ryan Shazier is perfect player for the Browns to take with the 26th pick. They had a solid defensive unit last season, but Cleveland needs to add impact talent at linebacker. Shazier is an incredibly talented player, who makes plays all over the field, and would be an impact starter right away for the Browns.
The Browns must land a franchise quarterback in this draft. While I do think there is a chance that they wait and take Carr, I believe it is far more likely that they take one of the top guys with their 4th pick. Between Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles, it is hard to say who will be available for the Browns, but I think they will land one of these guys.
