With free agency in full swing, several teams are adjusting their needs in the draft based on their new acquisitions. However, the Green Bay Packers fall in the minority in which their moves in free agency have zero effect thus far on what they should do in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Check out five updated first round scenarios for the Packers.

Safety is still a major concern for Green Bay as they have yet to make any significant movement in the right direction. In fact, starter M.D. Jennings signed with the Chicago Bears in free agency. Even if it’s not a huge loss, it’s a loss nonetheless. If safety Calvin Pryor is available at No. 21, he’s someone the Packers must select. He’s a physical enforcer who is capable of making big plays all over the gridiron.

If there isn’t a worthy safety left on the board when the Packers pick then selecting inside linebacker C.J. Mosley is the logical choice. Many believe Mosley is who Green Bay will go with even if a safety is available. The tackling machine has the potential to be a staple at the position for the next decade, which is music to Green Bay’s ears.

Aaron Donald will be one of the smaller interior linemen in the league, but he also possesses outstanding pass-rushing ability. His low-center of gravity and quickness will combine to make him a disrupting force that Green Bay desperately needs. Even if B.J. Raji accepts the one-year deal with the team, the Packers still need to make some improvements on the line. More importantly, generate interior pass rush.

Louis Nix

Louis Nix is a favorite to land in Green Bay, which is a very good thing. His above-average athleticism for his incredible size is exactly what the Packers need at the nose tackle position. He’s someone who will prevent penetration up the middle of the field and he’s also shown the ability to get after the quarterback. If the Packers want to improve the run and pass defense with one player, Nix is their man.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Green Bay must do whatever it takes to acquire Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. In my opinion, he’s a game changer who will have an immediate impact for the Packers. He’s a big-time hitter, defends the pass at an exceptional level and constantly makes plays on the ball. More importantly, he’s someone who will dominate the position for a very long time.
