The San Diego Chargers are a team on the rise. After a return to the playoffs in the 2013-14 season, things are looking up for the Chargers in the future. That said, the team still needs some help before they are the finished product.
Ladies and gentlemen, five free agents the San Diego Chargers should still sign.
Jeromey Clary isn't really a starter at this point, and is simply a weak point on the Chargers’ offensive line. While Harvey Dahl certainly isn't dominant by any stretch, he is a solid player and would be a great addition to the line in San Diego.
Antonio Gates isn't exactly the least injury-prone player around, and the Chargers need a backup plan in case the injury bug strikes again. Ed Dickson isn't a flashy player and he won't win any MVP awards, but he is a solid second option.
The Chargers' receivers have had a hard time staying healthy over the past few years. Jason Avant isn't a guy who should be starting long-term, but as an injury fill-in Avant would be a solid addition.
Although they have youngster Manti Te'o, the Chargers could still use another versatile linebacker. Desmond Bishop fits the bill, and could play either inside or outside linebacker.
The Chargers' secondary is atrocious, and lacks a true No. 1 corner. Zack Bowman isn't that type of player either, but would be an upgrade over whatever the Chargers have now.
