The Denver Broncos fell short of winning the Super Bowl to the Seattle Seahawks, but will feel that they are the clear favorites to go from the AFC once again. As long as Peyton Manning remains healthy and the offensive line will block for him, the Broncos should be successful once again. However, there is still room for improvement.

Here are five players who the Denver Broncos should select with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Although not as heavy as some would like their defensive ends, Dee Ford possesses an athleticism and speed that could get the best of a lot of offensive linemen in the NFL. Ford will be an exciting player in the near future.

4. LB C.J. Mosley – Alabama

C.J. Mosley is one of the best players in the 2014 NFL Draft, but so many teams need help at other positions, the Broncos might get lucky enough for him to fall late in the first round.

3. LB Ryan Shazier – Ohio State

Ryan Shazier isn’t the same level as other linebackers in the draft like C.J. Mosley, but with those players likely to be already gone, he is still a good choice. His speed and size are just what the Broncos’ defense needs from a new outside linebacker.

2. DE Kony Ealy – Missouri

Kony Ealy is extremely athletic and could be exactly what the Broncos’ defense needs to step up their pass rushing. Experts are high on him; he'll have a lot of success at the next level.

The most important thing for Denver in the postseason has to be protecting Peyton Manning. They looked unstoppable when he had time, but when he was forced to make quick decisions, plays fell through. Xavier Su’a-Filo is a big body who could step in for some immediate playing time.
