2014 NFL Draft: 5 Players Cleveland Browns Should Target With 26th Pick

The Cleveland Browns have plenty of holes on the both sides of the ball to fill this offseason. Luckily they have two first-round picks in the 2014 NFL Draft. With the 4th pick, the Browns are expected to draft a quarterback or wide receiver Sammy Watkins. The 26th pick needs to be used to complement a WR/QB or to strengthen the defense.
5. QB Derek Carr

If the Browns draft Sammy Watkins or a player at another position, then they need to draft a QB with their second pick in the first round. Brian Hoyer, a player coming off an ACL injury, is the only QB on the depth chart. Derek Carr may be the best QB available at this time.
4. OG Xavier Su'a-Filo

If the Browns do pick a QB with the 4th pick, selecting a player to protect the QB might be a wise decision. Xavier Su'a-Filo is the best offensive guard in the draft this year.
3. CB Kyle Fuller

The Browns have a surprisingly solid defense and should continue to strengthen that side of the football. A cornerback to complement Joe Haden would improve the defense mightily. Fuller can play the outside as well as the inside and is an impact performer.
2. CB Jason Verrett

Jason Verrett is more NFL-ready than Kyle Fuller is and would be able to make an impact right away. He's an extremely fluid athlete with a high football IQ.

Karlos Dansby fills a hole at the linebacking position, but it does not solve anything long term. Cleveland could further improve their defense by drafting C.J. Mosley. He's an all-around LB with sure-tackling skills and ability to drop in coverage.
