The Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be a team on the rise. Despite a 2013-14 campaign that didn't go all that well, the Jaguars actually have some promising young talent. With that said, ladies and gentlemen, five unheralded Jacksonville Jaguars who need to step up in 2014.

Signed during this year's free agency to help fill the void left by the departure of Maurice Jones-Drew, Toby Gerhart enters 2014 with a lot riding on his shoulders. Finally free from Adrian Peterson's shadow, it's time Gerhart produces.

Although Cecil Shorts is the top option in Jacksonville, receiver Ace Sanders isn't all too bad himself. Fellow receiver Justin Blackmon is suspended indefinitely, and as a result, Ace Sanders needs to step up.

The Jaguars haven't been well known for their secondary play over the years. Often filled with mediocre players, Jacksonville's defensive backfield has always been more of a weakness than a strength. However, although he isn't too well known yet, Dwayne Gratz has the talent to finally set the Jaguars' secondary straight.

The second overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft, Luke Joeckel failed to do much of anything as he missed most of the season because of injury. That said, Joeckel has all the talent to succeed in the NFL, and it's imperative that he steps up in 2014.
