Washington Redskins Rumors: DeSean Jackson Would be Perfect for Robert Griffin III
The Washington Redskins have been considered huge players in the race for coveted free agent wide out DeSean Jackson and the former Philadelphia Eagles star is apparently close to a deal with the ‘Skins. Whether or not this is true has yet to be seen, but Robert Griffin III better hope it is.
Catching 82 passes for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns last season proved to be a career year for the 27-year-old receiver from Long Beach, Calif., and he is likely going to produce just as well, if not better, for whichever team he decides to join.
According to multiple sources, the two sides are very close to reaching a deal that would bring Jackson on board to help RG3 forget his struggles from a year ago and get over the injury hump.
DeSean Jackson’s out to breakfast now with Skins officials. After that, they’ll head to Redskins Park. Obviously, mutual interest is strong.

While this seems like a deal is near, Griffin III might have had a strong hand in swaying the wide out to a serious interest in Washington.
Reports have come out that Robert Griffin III and Jackson met in Los Angeles earlier last week to discuss a possible signing. Yes, this was even before the Redskins’ front office met with the speedy wide out.
If the deal does happen soon, you can kiss RG3′s troubles goodbye. Coming off a serious sophomore slump, the soon-to-be third-year veteran has been searching for a solid No. 1 option at wide out and Jackson could be just that.
You better believe that Griffin III would come out of his slump in a big way and have an NFL Comeback Player of the Year-type season.
