The Dallas Cowboys have kept busy so far in the 2014 NFL offseason. Dallas released DeMarcus Ware and Jason Hatcher in free agency. Dallas' defense was one of the worst in NFL history in 2013, and they need to make significant upgrades in May's draft because the Cowboys do not have much cap space left. Here are five NFL Draft rumors Cowboy fans must know.

DallasCowboys.com staff writer Bryan Broaddus believes that Dallas will stockpile on defensive ends in this year's draft. When asked about if Michael Sam is a possibility, Broaddus responded "Sure he is. He can rush the passer." The defensive line is the piston for the 4-3, and the Cowboys need to generate more pressure on the quarterback.

While many may not see it, the Cowboys need to draft a wide receiver early in this year's draft. Dez Bryant is an absolute stud, but there isn't one proven player behind him. Terrance Williams was pretty good in 2013, but he needs to do a better job at using his hands to catch passes, instead of using his body. Dwayne Harris and Cole Beasley are good players, but they're unproven. Some options in the draft are Davante Adams and Martavis Bryant.

It may be too fitting to see Johnny Manziel falling to Dallas' first-round selection, but Jerry Jones said that the team does not plan on spending a significant pick on a quarterback. That said, it will upset a ton of sports fans in Texas, but the Cowboys already have their guy in Tony Romo. Although Romo is much-maligned by Cowboy fans, it is worth noting that he is an above-average quarterback that can get this team back in the playoffs.

Almost every mock draft has the Cowboys taking Aaron Donald or Kony Ealy. Regardless, both would be impact players on this team. Although Dallas signed Henry Melton in free agency, it should be said that he is coming off reconstructive knee injury. The combination of Melton and Donald in the middle of the field would be frightening. Ealy is a good player to come off the edge, but he is still very raw.

Bryan Broaddus also pointed out that the Cowboys could be open to trading up a few picks to land Jadeveon Clowney. The South Carolina product is truly one of the best prospects to declare for the draft in recent memory. At 6-foot-6, 280 pounds, Clowney is a physical specimen. He also runs the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds. That's scary for a 280-pound man. Clowney could be a stud for many years in Dallas.
