San Francisco 49ers fans were shocked on Thursday morning when Colin Kaepernick and the words ‘sexual assault’ were included in the same headlines. The speedy QB was reportedly being investigated for a possible sexual assault that took place last month in Miami.

But now, just hours later, details have finally started to emerge.

Here’s what we know now:

Kaepernick is indeed being investigated by Miami police. However, the phrase ‘sexual assault’ does not appear in the official police report. Instead, he’s being investigated because of a ‘suspicious incident’.

Clearly, something out of the ordinary happened on the night in question. The report suggests that it wasn’t a sexual assault, but rather a blackout. The woman, who may or may not have been sexually assaulted, apparently had Kaepernick and two other NFL players (Quinton Patton and Ricardo Lockette) over to her apartment for shots while they also took bong hits of marijuana.

The report goes on to say that she then went to bed (after becoming light-heaeded) with Kaepernick, but that the two did not have sex. Then apparently, the next thing she knew, she woke up in the hospital with no memories from the night before.

It’s also worth noting that Kaepernick and the woman reportedly have had sexual relations in the past.

So, is this now just a case of someone consuming too much and not remembering what happened? It’s beginning to look that way. From what we know right now, it doesn’t appear that any charges will be brought against the 49ers QB, but it’s also still too early to say for sure.
