With the most exciting days of NFL free agency well behind us, it’s time to start focusing hard on the upcoming NFL draft. In free agency, teams got a chance to fill some holes in their roster before the draft. Now that that’s over with, let’s update the Cincinnati Bengals’ five biggest needs.

The Bengals had a top-10 defense in 2013 and you can expect much of the same in 2014. While this isn’t a dire need, in a league that will only become more pass-oriented as time marches on, snagging a young corner to develop isn’t a bad idea.

Ray Maualuga and Vontaze Burfict are a linebacker duo that all NFL fans should know about, but what about a third to add to this bunch? Jayson Dimanche is good, but could be better. What if the Bengals were to add Ryan Shazier to their linebacking corp? Now that would be a feared trio.

3. Project Quarterback

How much longer will they trust Andy Dalton? He’s been a solid quarterback in the regular season, but seems to be cursed in the postseason. Perhaps drafting a project quarterback for the future isn’t a bad idea. It’s not a serious need, so why not spend a mid-to-late round pick on Zach Mettenberger?

The Bengals’ front five paved the way for the 18th-best rushing attack in the league and gave up 29 sacks. While their big uglies weren’t bad, they could be well suited to upgrade at the tackle position.

Finding a solid defensive end to play opposite of Carlos Dunlap isn’t a bad idea. This draft isn’t exactly full of them (especially not outside of Jadeveon Clowney), so this is more of a day two or three idea. Michael Johnson is gone, so why not find his replacement?
