The Arizona Cardinals are a team on the rise after a solid free agency period that involved the signing of star left tackle Jared Veldheer as well as some smaller moves. That said, if the Cardinals really want to continue improving, they must nail the 2014 NFL Draft. With that in mind, here are the five NFL Draft prospects that Cardinals fans need to know.

5. Pierre Desir

Despite signing Antonio Cromartie in free agency, the Cardinals still need to pick up someone who can be a long-term answer across from star corner Patrick Peterson. Pierre Desir is one of my favorite cornerback prospects in the entire draft class, and would provide the Cardinals with one of the league’s best corner tandems a few years from now.

4. Tom Savage

Carson Palmer isn't going to be around forever, and in this year’s draft, the Cardinals need to select their quarterback of the future. Tom Savage is shooting up a lot of people’s draft boards, and his arm strength and leadership make him a desirable prospect for the Cardinals.

3. Jordan Tripp

The Cardinals need to add more young talent to their linebacking corps, and Jordan Tripp is a guy both the team and fans should keep in mind. Tripp is a bit raw, but with a year or two of learning behind John Abraham, Tripp could develop into a special player.

2. Trai Turner

A powerful run-blocking right guard, Trai Turner is a name for Cardinals fans to remember. Turner needs a lot of work as far as pass-blocking is concerned, that said, Turner would be an upgrade right away.

Bobby Massey hasn't developed as well as the Cardinals would have liked, and chances are the team will try to patch up the right tackle position in the draft. JuWan James out of Tennessee could be an immediate starter across from the newly-acquired Jared Veldheer.
