2014 NFL Draft: 5 Names Carolina Panthers Fans Need to Know

NFL Draft

This hasn't been a very easy offseason for the Carolina Panthers. From the retirement of left tackle Jordan Gross to the release of Steve Smith, things have been rather difficult this offseason for the team. That said, nailing the 2014 NFL Draft class could erase a lot of the pain this offseason has brought on. Here are five names that Carolina Panthers fans need to know.

It’s no secret that the Panthers need some major wide receiver help. This year’s draft has a wealth of viable receiver prospects, one of which is former Penn State receiver Allen Robinson. Robinson has great hands and awareness, and he would help the receiving corps immediately.

A huge receiver standing at 6-foot-6, Brandon Coleman has the physical tools to dominate. If he’s available in the draft’s later stages, the Panthers could look to land the big pass catcher.

3. Pierre Desir

One of my favorite prospects in the entire draft, Pierre Desir is everything a team could want from a physical standpoint. He’s tall, athletic and has the ball-hawking abilities to make an impact. He would be a great addition to Carolina’s roster.

2. Ricardo Allen

After losing nickel corner Captain Munnerlyn in free agency, a big need was created in the Panthers’ secondary. Ricardo Allen is built similarly to Munnerlyn and would have a chance to make a big impact if drafted by the Panthers.

As one of the more underrated prospects throughout the draft process, Virginia offensive tackle Morgan Moses has worked his way into first round contention due to a fantastic offseason showing. After losing Jordan Gross to retirement, picking up Moses would fill a huge hole.
