The Minnesota Vikings will play their home games outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium over the next two seasons, and the schedule makers did them a favor(?) this year by scheduling three straight home games in late November and early December.

There’s still a long way to go before Week 1, but as it sits right now here are the five biggest games on the Vikings’ 2014 schedule.

5. Week 1- at St. Louis

The Vikings’ first home game of the season will come against a formidable opponent. Playing outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium adds some mystique and notoriety.

Minnesota will travel to New Orleans for the first time since the 2010 season opener, when thoughts of the previous year’s NFC Championship Game were still prevalent. Most of the notable players from those two games are not around now, but playing the Saints surely still carries cache for Vikings’ fans.

2. Week 17-vs. Chicago Bears

Jared Allen’s return to Minnesota won’t come until the regular season finale, but Vikings’ fans will surely still greet him warmly in the middle of a cold winter.

Any Packers/Vikings game is always big in both locations, and the scope of a nationally televised Thursday night game will only increase that.
